St. Helen's, Fairview

The Bishop had the joy of leading worship with the congregation of St. Helen’s, Fairview, on Sunday, July 26, 2026.

St. Helen’s is a unique parish, located in the Fairview mall across from the Food Bank. Each week, when the Food Bank is open, the congregation offers an outreach ministry by handing out water, providing a quiet and safe place for people to rest and talk, and often listening to those who need to share or offering music for comfort and encouragement.

Following the worship service, everyone enjoyed a delicious lunch of pulled pork sandwiches prepared by members of the congregation, along with desserts from the neighboring Bootstrap Bakery. The Bishop spent time visiting with parishioners and friends over lunch.

It was especially meaningful to worship with the congregation, as the Bishop had been forced to cancel his previous visit because of a severe snowstorm. In fact, it was the only occasion on which he has ever had to cancel a service due to dangerous travel conditions.
