On Saturday, August 23, 2023, the Bishop and his wife travelled to Slave Lake and from there flew to Wabasca to see the new roof on the church, the rectory, and three outbuildings. The much-needed work had begun the previous Monday to replace the leaking roofs and was completed by Thursday. The Rev. Richard Waye was present to drive the Bishop around and show him the newly completed projects. He expressed his deep gratitude for the work that was done to preserve the buildings and ensure their continued use for ministry. This project was made possible through support from the Diocesan Property Replacement Fund, which provided the funds necessary for the repairs. Later that evening, the Bishop flew back to Slave Lake. Special thanks are extended to Brian and Robin-Lee Vance for accompanying the Bishop and for piloting the plane.
