I recieve many emails in a day and it takes some time to look at each one of them. Some are interesting, some are deleted quickly, some are business to be dealt with, some are messages from others to be heard. Then there are some that are jewels that allow me to slow down and reflect on the world around me and that touch me. Below is an excerpt from one such email that I received on this day. I pray that you find a message for you in these words.
"Dear friends in Christ,
The news can be exhausting. It’s easy to begin to believe that the world is spinning out of control, that evil will have the last word. But we who follow Jesus know that grace and mercy always have the last word. The mighty empire tried to extinguish God’s love on Calvary, but three days after he died, Jesus got up and walked up of the tomb.
In our day, it might be harder for us to perceive the victory of love. At times, just as at Calvary, it seems that evil is winning. At times like these, it is more important than ever for us to stay anchored in prayer. Our choice is not “prayer or action,” because prayer is action. The strength we receive from prayer might give us the resolve, the wisdom, and the clarity to be ambassadors of Jesus Christ in a time when the world needs bearers of mercy and grace.
I find Psalm 27 inspiring every single time I read it.
The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom then shall I fear? * the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom then shall I be afraid?
If we can rest in Christ, we can get through anything. Being anchored won’t always solve the challenges of our lives, but it will equip us with the resilience to persevere.
Take care, friends. Let God be your light, your joy, your hope, and your salvation.
Yours faithfully,
 Scott Gunn Executive Director"
