The Anglican Peace River Crossing Cemetery, located on the grounds of Bishop’s Lodge and Malvern House, has long stood as a place of memory and reverence. Some months ago, this sacred site suffered an act of vandalism, and several of the crosses marking the graves were destroyed.
Out of this loss has come a faithful act of care. Mr. Dan Townson has generously and lovingly crafted new crosses to restore dignity to the resting places of those who have gone before us. With hope and prayer, it is intended that the crosses will be set in place before the coming of winter.
In addition, careful research has been carried out to honour the history of the cemetery. Each cross will now bear a plaque identifying the grave, ensuring that the memory of those buried there will be preserved with respect for generations to come.
This restoration is both an act of healing and a testament to the love of Christ that binds us to one another across time. May this renewed witness of care remind us of the sacredness of life, the importance of remembrance, and the hope of resurrection.
