Please pray for the people who have been nominated for the role of Primate.  Please pray for the bishop and all the general synod delegates that will soon be traveling to London, Ontario for General Synod.

This summer, the Diocese of Athabasca invites you to TASTE Camp 2025, happening July 31–August 3 at Camp Artaban.

This joyful, barrier-free family camp will bring together people of all ages for a weekend of faith, fun, and fellowship. Our theme—TASTE: Trust, Act, See, Try, Explore—is inspired by Psalm 34:8: “Taste and see that the Lord is good!”

Participants will enjoy meals, worship, music, crafts, outdoor adventures, and age-appropriate programming for children, youth, and adults. Special guests will be joining us to make this a truly memorable diocesan gathering.

The bishop attended the convocation ceremony at Athabasca University on Thursday, June 5, 2025. 

Thank you to the people of St. James Cathedral in Peace River for cleaning up around the Diocesan Synod Office.  It is greatly appreciated.  

 

"Brenda Sawchuk organized a work bee sort of on the fly after church on Sunday, June 8, 2025.  We had a few people that showed up; Drew, Jocelyn, Kinzlee, and Brenda Sawchuk, Steve Pasquan, Marlene Olson‘s daughter Jane, Sarah Craigen, Maddison Banack, and myself.   We are very thankful for Drew and Joslin’s truck.  Quite few loads of vegetation were taken to the yard waste.  Lots of various pieces of discard wood thrown in the dumpster.  Also Brenda collected 6 garbage bags, full of clothes that were just dumped there on Saturday before the cleanup. so all in all, yes it is a huge improvement.
